The Atomic Bent Chetler 2026 – Limited Edition

Atomic Bent Chetler 2026 – Limited Edition: Complete Guide

The Atomic Bent Chetler 2026 is the ultimate evolution of the iconic ski imagined by Chris Benchetler, designed for passionate freeride, backcountry, and freestyle skiers.
This limited edition combines high performance, artistic design, and eco-friendly materials, and is available in several models suited to all types of skiers — from beginners to expert riders.

The Bent Chetler is the signature ski of Chris Benchetler, a freerider from Mammoth Mountain, USA. He has always been driven not only by performance but also by style, art, and freedom in the powder.
The first Bent Chetler was released around the 2009–2010 season.

Since then, Atomic has collaborated with Benchetler every year to refine the ski’s shape, materials, and graphic design.

Starting in the 2014–2015 season, the introduction of HRZN Tech (horizontal rocker at the tips) marked a major evolution: increased tip and tail surface area for better floatation and a smoother, more effortless glide in deep snow.

The Artistic DNA — Every Design Tells a Story
Chris Benchetler doesn’t just sign his skis — he personally paints each design.
For 2026, his inspiration comes from the natural flow between mountain, ocean, and air: the graphics feature organic shapes, stylized waves, and cloud forms, paying tribute to the freedom of movement.
Each pair is like a canvas — there’s a visual continuity from one ski to the other, creating a composition designed as a complete work of art.

A Subtle Eco-Conscious Approach
Atomic has reduced the amount of resin and metal used in the 2026 series, replacing certain layers with bio-based fibers and a recycled-material topsheet.
The result: a smaller carbon footprint, but also a livelier ski with a more organic feel and response underfoot.

Construction & Materials

Core: Lightweight poplar wood, combined with ash wood under the binding zone for increased stiffness and durability.
HRZN 3D Technology: Integrated in the tip and tail to expand snow contact surface and enhance floatation in powder.
Reinforcements: Carbon fiber and limited metal inserts to optimize stiffness while keeping weight low.
Topsheet Finish: Glossy surface with unique artistic graphics, made with recycled materials to reduce environmental impact.
Sidewalls: Dura Cap Sidewalls for improved protection and long-term durability.

Who Is It For?
The Bent Chetler 2026 is ideal for:

Experienced freeriders: Looking for high performance in off-piste and deep-snow conditions.
Backcountry enthusiasts: Seeking a ski that’s light for ascents yet stable on descents.
Creative riders: Who appreciate a unique artistic design and playful maneuverability.

How to Choose the Right Length
For a twin-tip ski with rocker, the goal is to find the right balance between floatation and maneuverability.
These skis are built to make turning easier, float effortlessly in powder, and offer plenty of playfulness for buttering, sliding, or freestyle movements — forgiving and versatile in all situations.

In practice:

Longer skis provide more stability and float, ideal for fast, committed lines in deep snow.
Shorter skis are more agile and playful, perfect for riders who like to experiment, pivot quickly, and use the terrain creatively.
The right choice depends mainly on your riding style:

If you’re after smoothness and comfort in powder, go equal to or slightly longer than your height.
If you prefer quick turns and a playful ride, choose something around or slightly shorter than your height.
Thanks to the rocker and twin-tip design, you’ll always enjoy great forgiveness and a sense of freedom, no matter which size you pick.
