Which skis should I choose and which length will be the most suitable for me?

We have a wide range of skis for every discipline, from children's skis to racing skis, all-mountain skis, freeride and freestyle skis, to freeride and freeride skis.

All styles of skis are generally distinguished by their length and width, so make sure you have your current pair of skis that you want to change and note the length, width, and model name of the ski, this information is crucial so that the Sportmania team can give you the best advice.

# What type of skis to choose?

As far as children's skis  are concerned, skis are often called "injected", that is to say that a rigid foam is incorporated into the ski instead of wood, the bis is generally used for junior skis of higher quality, or competition skis, they will take at chin level for beginners, larger for the little ones who already send heavy!

We can also categorize the skis called "women" and "men", but for most of the time, this difference is summarized by a different color, for many models, this difference is found by a ski less rigid than the men's version.

(However, don't be mistaken, a good skier may have as much fun with a pair of "men's" skis as with a "women's" model depending on the model chosen).

Piste skis can only be appreciated at their true value on piste, prefer a well groomed piste to get the maximum performance from the skis, but for many skis, with sharp edges will do perfectly well on hard or frozen snow, they will be very bad in powder, for the size you will choose a pair between the chin and the eyes for intermediate level, underneath for beginners and above for good level.

A lot of people choose skis called "all-mountain", that is to say they are good at everything, whether on piste or off-piste, they are generally between 85 and 100mm on the skate with a pronounced rocker in the tip, a tip, take them at your height because the rocker is the part of the tip that will never touch the piste.

And finally, we will mix the freestyle and freeride categories, because they are two very distinct categories, but similar in the spirit of freedom, the freestyle skis will be so-called "twin-tip" skis, simetric in front and behind, for switch receptions, rather narrow at the skate for the most part, between 85 and 100mm at the skate, while the freeride skis will be more with 100 to 120mm under the foot. The freestyler will take a pair of slats at his waist or smaller for rotations, the freerider will take a pair of skis at his waist or larger for more lift.

The last category is the touring ski category, so much to say about this category that we advise you to go on this guide for more info!
