DIRACT VOICE
The DIRACT VOICE is an avalanche transceiver with integrated voice navigation that combines intuitive operation with the latest technology and a practical, well thought-out design. Its operation is simplified with a single button and, thanks to clear symbols and a 360° real-time display, it provides intuitive user guidance in stressful situations. Thanks to the patented SMART ANTENNA technology, buried victims are found much faster with the DIRACT: The device analyzes its position in the avalanche and automatically switches to the best transmission antenna. At ORTOVOX, this state of the art 3 antenna technology is used consistently, as is the automatic switchover in case of over avalanche. In addition to the SEND and SEARCH modes, there is a STANDBY mode to neutralize the signal during the search. The special low-temperature rechargeable battery that ensures reliable power supply even at -20°C is particularly durable and environmentally friendly.

ALU 240
Our entry-level probe with Quick-Lock system: the ALU 240 is reduced to the essentials. The Quick-Lock system makes assembly quick and easy. It can be assembled in seconds and just as quickly unlocked and stored. Its optimized adjustment screw allows for quick tension adjustment with one turn of the screw. The voluminous tip has a slightly larger diameter than the rest of the probe and allows for better penetration. Its weight of only 200 g is possible thanks to the use of aluminum with a diameter of 11 mm. Like all our probes, the ALU 240 is equipped with a visual control system with depth markings, a pronounced mark at 1 meter and a fluorescent orange lower segment that allows optimizing the strategy to free the victim.

BEAST CLASSIC
The BEAST CLASSIC is a lightweight, compact and efficient aluminum avalanche shovel. With a working length of 83 centimeters and a bucket capacity of 2.5 liters, the BEAST is the ideal size for efficient avalanche work.
High-quality materials as well as high sidewalls and a pronounced center bar ensure the necessary strength and rigidity. The rigid and sharp cutting edge guarantees optimal performance."

Why is the voice soothing in a search situation?
Intuitive operation means automatic action: The less you have to think, the better - there's no doubt about that. The voice navigation of the diract voice tag alone is a great help because you can keep your eyes on the situation and not on the device. Visual information must first be processed and then translated into action.

When this is done for us by a voice and the instructions are direct, we save ourselves a step in the processing sequence. Thus, clear instructions mean that we need less cognitive capacity, which is already limited in such a situation.

In stressful situations like an avalanche, a voice is always welcome. This is also something you learn in first aid. You feel less alone and calmer. Thus, in an optimal situation, stress levels decrease and cognitive ability improves.
